This week, 8th-grade Spanish students had the opportunity to visit Pilsen. They walked the neighborhood looking at the murals painted on buildings, visiting a bakery, enjoying lunch, and learning about the Day of the Dead at the National Museum of Mexican Art.
Esta semana, los estudiantes de español de octavo grado tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar Pilsen. Caminaron por el vecindario, observaron los murales pintados en los edificios, visitaron una panadería, disfrutaron de un almuerzo y aprendieron sobre el Día de los Muertos en el Museo Nacional de Arte Mexicano.








Just a reminder that Halloween costumes, face paint, masks, wigs, hats, etc. are not allowed at Hauser. It will be a regular day of school for Hauser students.

7th graders enjoyed watching The Outsiders after reading the novel in their ELA classes. They especially enjoyed dressing up as their favorite greasers and Socs. Stay gold, Cougars!

Hauser was in good hands as 7th-grader Evie Gunn was our principal for the day! Principal Gunn helped with ticket sales for the dance, delivered donuts to her teachers, visited her elementary school, and attended a meeting at the District Office! #HJHCougar #D96Inspires

Riverside School District 96, will be hosting a Parent presentation of "Keeping Our Kids Cyber Safe" presentation on the following date and times: This event will take place tonight, October 17th, 2024 in the Hauser Junior High Auditorium from 6:00PM-8:00 PM.
All parents, guardians, teachers and grandparents are welcome to attend as well. Det. Richard Wistocki, nationally recognized High Technology Cyber Crimes Specialist, will be presenting proactive strategies, expert insight, and invaluable resources designed to empower you to combat Cyber-Bullying Vaping, and Sexting.
This morning, Hauser students saw an age-appropriate version of the presentation.

On Thursday, October 24th, the 8th-grade girls' volleyball team will face off against the teachers in the ultimate bragging rights matchup! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, everyone who attends should wear PINK. Entry is free, but concessions will be sold by SLT. There will also be opportunities for different raffle prizes and games. You do not want to miss the biggest event of the year! Bragging rights are on the line!

SLT is hosting their first dance of the year on October 18th! All students are welcome to dance with our DJ in the large gym or enjoy an open-gym with friends in the small gym immediately after school until 4:30pm. Admission is $2 and wristbands will be sold before school, during lunch/Cougar Connections, and at the dance entry. Concessions will be available for $1 (candy/chips/drinks) and pizza slices for $2. CASH ONLY. Students WILL NOT be allowed to enter/re-enter the dance after leaving school for any reason and should be picked up PROMPTLY at 4:30.

A reminder that there's no school for students on Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 16. We'll see our Cougars on Wednesday!

The girls' volleyball teams have continued their strong seasons this week, as the 7th and 8th graders both came away with victories against Albright and Hillside. The 7th grade team is now at an 8-2 record, and the 8th grade team continues it's perfect season, improving to 10-0. Congrats to all the girls, and best of luck for the last week of the season!

Yesterday was picture day for Hauser students, even our therapy dog Lily! Luckily, Lily had some friends who helped her look picture-perfect. #HJHCougars




The 7th and 8th grade Boys Basketball and Cheerleading informational meeting will be held on October 17th immediately after school in Hauser's small gym. Please see one of the respective coaches before the tryout if you can not attend the meeting. Basketball- Mr. Dimitrijevic and Mr. Burke, Cheerleading- Mrs. Gildow and Ms. Harrington.
